A square green onyx slab polished and with notched edge centering a circular green jasper ware plaque framed in bronze, sprigged white design of La Marchande D Amours (The Merchant of Love), titled on the ribbon below the image, after the relief by Clodion. A decorative element perhaps originating in architecture or a furniture piece, or a de-framed wall-hanging decoration. Measures 18.75 x 18.75 inches.
Good as shown noting the incomplete edges, corner chips, the jasper ware plaque is free from damage or repair, no major cracks or repairs in the onyx.
