54: A RARE AUGUSTUS REX VASE WITH CASTLE VAJDAHUNYAD

Bearing the mark of Augustus Rex, the gourd shaped vessel with long slightly flaring neck decorated overall in divided quadrant panels depicting identified castles in pink grisaille views of Schloss Vayda-Hunyad and Seibenburgen as identified in lettering on the gilt frames under the pink grisaille images, alternate quadrants framing birds within a landscape, the scenes separated by gilt chased bands. The underside of the base bears the conjoined AR mark under glaze.
Measures 10.5 x 5.5 inches.
Very nice, bright, clean condition, very little wear, if any, no damage or repair.
