128: A PAIR 13-INCH KYOTO SATSUMA POTTERY VASES

A pair of Japanese Kyoto pottery vases, each of bulbous form rising to a cylindrical neck with broad, everted mouth formed to resemble folded cloth and moulded with a faux tasseled cord, decorated in overglaze enamels and gilding with sparrows in flight amidst branches of flowering prunus amid stylized bands of clouds, inscribed in gilding Daita Toyokatsu tsukuru kore, circa 1900.
Measures 13.5 inches each.
Good condition, noting a crack in the base.
