Always experimenting with abstraction and color, Lewis exhibited widely in the 1960s and 1970s including invitational shows at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Des Moines Art Center, Minneapolis Museum of Art, Springfield (MO) Art Museum and Lawrence Gallery, Kansas City MO.
In 1967, the date on this piece, Lewis was granted a fellowship from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico.
Canvas measures 46 x 36 in a 47 x 37 inch frame.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up.
