1: MASTER OF THE DIE (fl. 1532-1550) FABLE OF CUPID PSYCHE

Master Of The Die (Fl. 1525-1560)
The Fable of Cupid and Psyche
The suite of thirty-two prints by Master of the Die from the tale 'The Fable of Cupid and Psyche,' in the manner of Raphael, second state, collector's inkstamp verso for E. Fabriclus Kupferstich Sammlung (reads in German: E. Fabriclus' engraving collection).

Master of the Die was an Italian engraver and printmaker whose identity is unknown. He signed his prints with a small die and worked in the style of Raphael.
Frames measure 17.25 x 18.5 inches.
Apparently the condition is very good. Only one has been removed from the frame for inspection and it retains wide margins, is not laid down, good condition noting scattered moderate foxing and brown tape remains along the upper edge.

Throughout the group, there are no visible issues of damage, repair, stain, puncture, tear or discoloration. None of the other works has been examined outside the frame.
