52: A PAIR 18TH CENTURY LOUIS XVI OPEN ARM FAUTEUIL

Each of chapeau en gendarme lappet-carved gilt wood frame joined by wood peg construction centering a carved trophy and rose crest rail flanked by fleurette blocks with stylized leaf domed finials, above a padded back issuing guilloche-carved padded arms ending in scrolled handrests, on downswept foliate-carved supports, foliate and lunette carved bowed rail flanked by block fleurettes, raised on circular tapering stop fluted legs with stylized toupie feet. Upholstered in a vibrant red velvet fabric finished with nail heads.
Each measures 45.5 x 26.5 x 28 inches.
Very good condition, noting wear and losses consistent with age, sturdy, clean and good, considerable lifting of the old gilding as shown, no damage or repair.
