137: COL. GRAYDON SCOUT BOMB SQUAD GROUPING, UNIFORM, WINGS

Col. Henry O. Graydon, USMCR, Mar. Scout Bombing Squadron 932, Mar. Air Group 34, 9th Marine Aircraft Wing, Pacific Theatre. He enlisted in 1942 and was promoted to Captain a year later. As of April 1944, he was assigned to VMSB-231 with the Fleet Marine Force. His final wartime assignment was with the 9th Marine Aircraft Wing. He was discharged in 1946, but returned to the USMCR from 1952-58. Discharged as Colonel.

Blue Service Uniform consisting of jacket with nine place ribbon bars, Pilot Wings, leather belt (black) with shoulder strap, pants, white gloves, visor cap; NOTE: Blue visor cap does NOT belong to him. Rather, it is named to Robert Thomas, Capt., USMCR. He was later promoted to Brigadier General. 'Marine Aviation at Cherry Point': Pictorial, 32 pages; Bio Plaque. Plus white dress tunic with aviator's wings, pants and visor cap.
