109: A J.T. DICKMAN SNOOKUM SHOOTING GALLERY TARGET

One of many questionable figure choices for a cast iron shooting gallery in the early 20th century, this popular comic strip character first appeared in George McManus' strip The Newlyweds in 1907 as Baby Snookums. Only a few of these targets are known, this example in very old park paint with a bit of iron loss between the legs, it would also have had a mechanical element not fully present back side.

Pictured on page 8 of Dickman's 1921 Catalog E on Gallery No. 62 and described on page 20 of that Catalog as being the 'Snookum' Make 'Em Yell' noisy kid.
