A C.W. PARKER 'INDIAN PRINCESS' SHOOTING GALLERY TARGET

108: A C.W. PARKER 'INDIAN PRINCESS' SHOOTING GALLERY TARGET

The folk art depiction of a Native American wearing war bonnet and jointed with a hinge at the neck, the top portion would disappear when struck. A rare Parker target signed CW Parker Abilene KS 15 in raised letters back side and from the firm's early period before 1910. This is the only example the Tuckers have seen or heard of in their 30 years of collecting.

Mr. Tucker refers to this as the ultimate shooting gallery target and the best of the best of C.W. Parker shooting gallery targets.

Pictured on page 29 (Figure 2.4) of Sellers' book. Illustrated in many Parker advertisements and catalogs (including on page 8 of Parker's Catalogue of Shooting Galleries, Model No. 6).
Measures 13.5 x 4.5 inches, excluding stand.
Very good original condition with outstanding patina, there are no issues of damage or repair.
