128: A WURFFLEIN EARLY 20TH C RABBIT SHOOTING GALLERY TARGET

The thick iron target with large integral bullseye in black paint backed by a bright red gong, the body with an interesting freckled surface of white park paint pelted by hundreds of lead bullets showing iron. Very similar in form and construction to Figure 3.16 (lot 139) but somewhat larger. Signed on reverse with number 55, the maker's part number, and believed to be illustrated in Gallery 222 of the 1913 Price List.

Pictured on page 48 in Sellers' book (Figure 3.17).
Displayed on custom iron stand. This is the only example the Tuckers have seen or heard of in their 30 years of collecting.
Measures 10.25 x 21 inches, excluding stand.
Very good condition throughout, no damage or repair, great surface with old paint and the type of patina only shooting gallery targets have.
