70: A 19TH CENTURY FIRKIN IN OLD RED PAINT

The tongue and groove wood staves bound in wood bands with finger laps, iron tack construction reinforced with later copper tacks, wood pegs, bentwood bail handle affixed with a wooden peg, old, perhaps original, red paint.
Measures 10 x 10.5 x 10 inches.
Very good condition noting chips to the lid, splits, separations, reinforcements, the effects age, wear and use commensurate with age.
