AN 1890s ADVERTISING POSTER FOR C.W. PARKER AMUSEMENT

9: AN 1890s ADVERTISING POSTER FOR C.W. PARKER AMUSEMENT

Found in a Lawrence, Kansas estate, this two-color stone lithograph advertising poster is the only known example of of its type promoting the Amusement King and his range of offerings. Charles Wallace Parker (C.W. Parker) is best known for his carousels. But here we're shown band organs, a shooting gallery and much more being offered by C.W. Parker of Abilene, Kansas, U.S.A. The company's success was such that operations were moved to a larger facility built in Leavenworth in 1911, placing this large and rare poster in the period before 1911. This is the only example the Tuckers have seen or heard of in their 30 years of collecting.
Image measures 25.75 x 39.5 with an overall frame size of 31.75 x 45.75 inches.
Very good condition, noting some minor wrinkles, light stain and overall toning, minor tears and reinforced fold lines, intact and very good.
