76: AN UNUSUAL OPTOMETRIST TRADE SIGN WITH EMBOSSED BANNER

The heavy cast zinc blue-eyed inserts surrounded by cast incised lashes on almond-shaped beveled edge centered by recessed eyeballs with embossed pupils; heavy zinc spectacle frame retaining a layer of gold leaf over the original gold most recently covered in yellow paint; a thick top banner cast in zinc with highly embossed lettering. the original forged iron hangers are in place; a great example circa late 19th century. The weight is 32 pounds.
Measures 14 x 36 x 1.25 inches.
Very good original condition, noting the repaints as stated - none of which fluoresce under UV light; there are no issues of damage or repair, light wear at some edges, reinforcement at one iron hanger.
