The monumental hand painted porcelain jardinière raised on a separate downswept base with central mounting post and ormolu mounts; the ornate flaring top rim with ribbon fold edge decorated in fine robust gold and conforming panels decorated in raised enamels above an encircling frieze of foliate meander in raised gold enamels; the large swollen body painted with elaborate woodland scene executed by the highly regarded artist Henry Mitchell, composition of two Irish Wolfhounds side-by-side in a forest with woodland deer signed Hy Mitchell within the image; the ormolu collar and corresponding socle base with ribbon-fold porcelain decorated in raised gold enamels, signed Doulton Burslem in brown under the glaze, signed TIFFANY & CO NEW YORK as well.
Measures 18 h x 14 diameter.
