355: A FINELY FRAMED 19TH C. EGLOMISE PAINTING OF NAPOLEON

The image of napoleon on horseback with columns of soldiers in the foreground and ships in a harbor in the distance with much smoke, perhaps depiction of a naval battle, displayed in an outstanding and unusual highly embossed metalwork frame with cherub figures among detailed parcel gilt vines, leaves and grapes in black patina with gilt trace highlights, the back lettered in quill dip pen and ink: 'Napoleon au fort de la tour d'ordre , camp de droit a' Boulogne' (Napoleon at the fort of the tower of order, right camp in Boulogne).
Measures 13.5 x 11.5 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, light wear at some edges and on some surfaces.
