The model of a twenty-two foot bronze sculpture weighing 4420 pounds erected atop the Kansas Statehouse is cast in an edition limited to 40 sculptures, the figure of a Native American in loincloth is posed with bow and arrow aiming for the North Star. The title refers to the wording on the Great Seal of the State of Kansas and the state motto, 'Ad Astra Per Aspera,' which is Latin for, 'To the Stars Through Difficulties.' The work is signed in the casting on the base and numbered 25/40, displayed on a hardwood base.
Measures 23.5 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
