The ivory field with all over offset rows of split flower head polychrome palmettes arranged in a distinctive traditional Kuba pattern, unusual Kuba date inscription upper left and upper right, fine quality, soft and lustrous wool within a two-tone red flower head and bracket vine border, reciprocal blue and charcoal reciprocal trefoil guard stripes, blue soumak flat weave band before the macramé ends.

See Hali issue 75, page 128 for a very, very similar example offered at auction and realizing a sold price of $20,000.00.
Measures 51 x 34 inches.
Very fine condition. Clean and odor free with intact original triple beam edges and macramé ends with just a few scattered gouges on one end only, no damage, repair or stain, very good pile overall, oxidized browns.
