311: A GOOD GOREVAN DISTRICT HERIZ NW PERSIAN CARPET C. 1910

The exceptional example of balance between pattern and color displaying a terracotta field with a central stepped and hooked blue medallion enclosing a salmon red floral centerpiece radiating pendants linked to mirrored palmettes, these supported by angular vines issuing palmettes, flower heads and serrated leaves, pale blue spandrels within a blue border enclosing continuous turtle palmettes alternating with flower head roundels linked by angular vines issuing hooked leaves, circa 1910.
Measures 120 x 90 inches.
Very good condition, some end loss, wear to the original edges, low pile overall with areas of foundation as shown, no damage, repair, odor or stain.
