The red field with ivory mihrab and overall offset rows of boteh alternating with stepped plants, flowerheads and upper animal spandrels, interesting ivory border with continuous stylized 'in and out' birds, the woven date inside the peak of the niche indicates the year 1894.
Measures 60 x 41 inches.
The intact weaving, noting that the edge wrap may or may not be later, overall wear largely to the knots, a few areas of foundation beginning to show, no damage or major repair, a dry, dusty and unwashed estate rug; no pet stain, hardened area or odor.
