12: A 19TH C. BLUE DECORATED JAR SIGNED JAMES HAMILTON

The stoneware storage jar with rounded top rim over cobalt blue band and incised concentric lines above cobalt blue stenciled decoration between lug handles and stenciled cobalt blue slip block lettering of JAMES HAMILTON & CO GREENSBORO PA formed in oval along with a stenciled floral spray and extra-large numeral 4 above a wide blue band at the base.
Measures 14.25 x 9.5 inches.
Good condition noting chip inside the rim and large chip on the base, orange paint residue. There are no other chips, cracks or repairs.
