269: THE 1823 CROSS STITCH SAMPLER OF ANNE SAVILLE AGED 10

The classic American sampler with meander border, rows of letters and numerals fruit baskets, trees, birds and cartouche-like design with the maker's name, age and the date, displayed in an early 19th century inlaid frame with corner roundels.
Measures 15.25 x 13.25 inches.
Apparently the condition is very good, intact, no repair, punctures or tears. There is toning and stain as shown in the images. This work has not been examined outside the frame.
