107: A 19TH C. HARPOON STYLE BRASS LOG SIGNED HAND & SONS

The heavy solid brass instrument towed behind a vessel in order to record miles traveled, made of solid brass with inset porcelain enamel plaque having three dials displaying nautical miles in hundreds, tens and ones along with black lettering and the maker's logo, stamped maker's mark on one brass fin as shown.
Measures 25.5 x 6.25 inches.
Very good original condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear with the exception of fine hairline network in the porcelain enamel radiating from one needle post.
