36: A CARVED AND GESSOED ST. GEROME IN 18TH C.D46 ITALIAN CABINET

A carved, gessoed and painted figure of St. Jerome decorated with gold leaf highlights, he sits with the bread in his left and the gospel in his right inside an 18th century Italian cabinet with rope twist molding and a small drawer. The cabinet dimensions are 28.25 x 20.25 x 7.5 inches, inside height 17.5 to top of arch.
Good condition as shown noting the effects of age, some losses and replacements.
