34: A FINE LARGE SILVER PLATED FIGURAL INK STAND C. 1890

The rectangular form stand with upraised scrolling ends and sides, four corner feet, two cut, polished and engraved bottles with frosted inverted stylized pamette devices below an engraved wreath shoulder, vasiform with rounounced circular plinth-like foot. The center of the stand raised to accomodate a divided stamp box revealed by removing the naturalistic silver base with rocks, plants, recumbent sheep and centered by a standing classically robed figure. No markings were found. Measures 11.5 x 15 x 9 inches.

Very good condition, now wear evident, no engraving or monograms, an object missing from the figure's hand, chip to the base of one inkwell as shown.
