35: A RARE GRANITEWARE AND VICTORIAN SILVER PLATE TEAPOT

A very rare gray graniteware teapot with Victorian quadruple plate mounts, the domed lid with tapered conical form concentric ring finial, domed lid hinged to cupped rim above a Japonesque band of embossed foliage, ornate silver-plated handle, shoulder rim, spout and foot. Pewter mounted graniteware is considered unusual, examples of silver mounted graniteware are nearly unheard of. Measures 9.5 x 10.5 inches.

Good condition, no chips, cracks, repairs or heavy wear. Metal foot shows some minor dents, very good silver plate.
