116: A MANGELS ROTATING LOLLIPOPS SHOOTING GALLERY TARGET

This circular iron disc with twelve lollipop-shape iron targets that disappear when struck looks more like a modern sculpture than an early 20th century shooting gallery target. The rotating yellow disc with central red spiral in old park paint would have been an eye-catching sight on the midway, and a challenge to shoot. This is the largest model of Mangels' 'Rotating Disc with Lollipops.' A smaller version in blue with pink is also offered in this sale (lot 222). This one illustrated on page 10 of Mangels' catalog 15 (gallery 48).

Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear, much fine old paint with period surface.
