The miniature terrestrial globe comprised of twelve chromolithograph paper gores mounted over a plaster and pasteboard body featuring detailed map of continents, countries, cities, geographic outlines, ocean currents, mountain ranges, and rivers along with the maker's legend of ERD-GLOBUS 15 Cent. nach den neuesten u. besten Quellen entworfen. BERLIN Ludw. Jul. Heymann Geograph. Art. Anst, the globe set upon a polychrome enamel spelter figure of a sailor boy on lobe pattern base with fouled ship's anchor and outset central paper dial compass below glass, raised on four rococo feet with cabochons, circa 1900.
Measures 11.5 x 5.5 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, light wear at some edges and perhaps varnished.
