The highly carved fruit wood fire screen with classic motifs of shells and scrolls enclosing a period needlepoint panel with florals on yellow ground joined by pegged mortise construction to scrolling feet centered by deep shell carvings.
Measures 42 x 30 x 13.5 inches.
Good to very good condition, original untouched overall, nice dark patina, tearing to the fabric backing, textile foxing and stain, no frame damage or repair.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.
