134: A 19THC. FRENCH RAM'S HEAD ARM CHAIR WITH TAPESTRY

The carved giltwood medallion ribbon and rose-carved back with trophy crest amongst roses, curved padded arms with acanthine carved supports terminating in ram's head handholds, foliate carved bowed seat and raised on tapering chandelles d'asperges fluted legs headed by swags and ending in stiff leaf carved feet. Upholstered in Aubusson Tapestry featuring two musical frolicking putti and seat featuring a god and hare within a pastoral setting, original horse hair stuffing. Measures 41.5 x 27.5 x 21 inches.

Good to fair condition with separations and fraying on the seat and back, broken open tapestry at the arms. Good and sturdy frame free from major damage or repair.
