226: A LARGE AND EARLY WUCAI PORCELAIN COVERED BOX

The lid decorated with design of a five claw dragon and phoenix over waves within a ruyi shaped cartouche, the sides decorated with Buddhist symbols over branches and garden rocks and a key pattern band. The base of the box decorated with the six character mark of wanli 1573-1619 and attributed to this period. Measures 5 x 10 inches overall.
Very good condition, there are no chips, cracks, repairs or issues of wear or stain.
